Cloud Migration Designed for FinTech
Financial applications require more than moving infrastructure from one cloud to another. Security, data integrity, availability, auditability and operational resilience need to remain in focus throughout the migration.
AngryLynx helps FinTech companies assess, plan and execute migrations to IONOS Cloud from AWS, Microsoft Azure, private cloud and on-premises environments.
We cover the complete migration lifecycle—from current-state assessment and target architecture to infrastructure setup, application and database migration, validation, production cutover and post-migration stabilization.
Assessment & Planning
We start by understanding your existing environment and the requirements that can affect the migration:
- Infrastructure, applications and legacy systems
- Databases, data flows and storage
- Application dependencies and third-party integrations
- Security, identity and access requirements
- Availability, backup and disaster recovery
- Current infrastructure costs and utilization
- Data location and processing requirements
- Regulatory and operational requirements
- Required RTO, RPO and acceptable migration downtime
Based on the assessment, we design the IONOS Cloud target architecture and create a migration plan covering scope, dependencies, risks, migration sequence, downtime strategy, rollback approach, timeline and implementation effort.
Migration & Modernization
We migrate applications, databases, data and infrastructure to the agreed IONOS Cloud environment.
This can include:
- AWS and Microsoft Azure workloads
- Virtual machines and cloud infrastructure
- Kubernetes and containerized applications
- PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB and Microsoft SQL Server
- Web applications, APIs and backend services
- Financial SaaS and transaction-processing applications
- Data processing and reporting systems
- Legacy applications and infrastructure
When an application cannot be migrated as-is, our software engineers can modernize or adapt the application as part of the migration, including dependency and runtime upgrades, containerization, database changes and integration updates.
Data Integrity & Controlled Cutover
For financial applications, successfully transferring data is not enough. The migrated environment needs to be validated before becoming the system of record.
Depending on the system, our migration approach can include data synchronization, consistency checks, source-to-target validation, reconciliation, staged migration and controlled production cutover.
We define acceptance and rollback criteria before cutover and plan the transition around agreed availability requirements.
Security, Resilience & Compliance Requirements
The migration architecture considers security, compliance, and operational resilience from the beginning, including access controls, encryption, backup and recovery, monitoring, infrastructure redundancy, and disaster recovery requirements.
For regulated financial organizations, we can incorporate relevant ICT risk management, data location, business continuity, documentation, and exit-strategy requirements into the migration design and implementation.
Where applicable, the project can be structured to support the customer's DORA and other applicable regulatory obligations. Regulatory compliance remains the responsibility of the regulated organization and is defined in coordination with its compliance, security, and risk stakeholders.
Documentation & Handover
Depending on the agreed scope, you receive documentation covering:
- Current and target architecture
- Migration scope and dependencies
- Risk and mitigation plan
- Data migration and validation approach
- Security and access considerations
- Backup and recovery approach
- Cutover and rollback procedures
- Migration validation results
- Operational handover
